From the Block is an eleven-track Philthy Records album built from the block up. I wrote and performed it to put South Side roots on record before the shine — the grind that stays when the crowd goes home, the refusal to get gassed, and the decision to land the plane instead of talking about it. The songs move from where I started (From the Block, Stop Playin’, Not You Dawg) to what the work is for (We Will Fly, Coming Home in the Picture, I Will Not Lose). Motivation was simple: say it plain, keep the proof in the music, and never lose the block that made the rest possible.
